A Fashionista Bride

I would love to take this opportunity to personally introduce you to Lindsey Hopkins.  I had the absolute priviledge of getting to know fashion designer and bride-to-be during her wedding week.  Lindsey married her MIDDLE SCHOOL sweetheart, that's right- 8 grade folks!  She is currently designing for brands carried at Target, but most importantly her own line called Lindsey Hopkins Collection.

This beautiful blonde with bright blue eyes came to our studio complete with a great spirit and mood board of her makeup inspirations. Typically brides don't have such a clear idea of what they want to look like, so I was thrilled to have photos of her dream makeup. We collaborated on the details and designed the look for her bridesmaids. Besides being talented, Lindsey is really funny and easy to be around.  I know it's been a good trial when my mascara is smudged from laughing so hard! On the morning of Lindsey's wedding Makeup Artist, Jessica, joined me to assist me in providing special care for her friends and family.  The morning and afternoon came fast but a sweet group of ladies remained feeling and looking fabulous.

Lindsey, I'm sure you had an amazing wedding and reception!  Wishing you the very best time in Thailand and we can't wait to see your photos. Congratulations on all the success that will continue to follow you on your amazing journey.  You have big fans in Savannah!

Sincerely, Jules

Met.Mingled.Maryland

Wow. It's the only word I can use to describe our meet & greet event last night in Baltimore to introduce #DollfaceNorth! Being a Savannah based company, we knew the best way to meet people would be to put ourselves out there & trust the right connections would be made. We invited top industry professionals to a casual gathering inside the swanky Bond Street Social. Not being 100% sure on who would actually show up, we were thrilled to meet so many of the forces behind such fantastic companies. Last night we were welcomed with open arms to our new market!

I am grateful for your time, kindness, and for your support as we develop our new area! Thank you to Chris March Photography, Briana Dixon with Nouvelle Events, Jean Mayer + Emily Villarreal with Boutique Events, Teri Pozniak of TPoz Photography, Scott Johnson of Conference Direct, Julie Brown-Edwards of Party Space, Tracy with Bond Street Social, and a special thank you to Rachel Smith Photography for grabbing a photo of some of our group! We are happy to have met you & are looking forward to showing what #TeamDollface can do!

Cheers!
Jules

Have Star Treatment on Your Wedding Day!

When I was starting Dollface, I knew my brides were going to hold a special place in my heart.  Not only am I a fan of L.O.V.E., but also I'm a firm believer that your wedding day should be one of the most special days of your life!  What many people, brides-to-be included, don't realize is that the day starts way before she ever walks down the aisle.  This leads me to a story of the "spark" that ignited my passion for making the getting-ready part on the wedding day a momentous party!

I remember seeing a bride years ago at the mall makeup counter with her veil on.  There was also a local prom happening that evening, so she wasn't too happy since the counter was full of girls from the prom crowd.  She didn't really get much attention since the counter was busy.  High school girls were walking up and asking the artist questions while the bride was having her makeup done. It was pretty overwhelming even for me to look for a new lip gloss.

Something about this girl sitting with her veil on, in the mall, on her wedding day, really stuck with me.  I didn't even know her, but I wanted to give her some personal attention and love on her a little bit!  (For those of you who haven't met me yet, I'm a hugger.)  I continued to think about her and how I could make that situation better.  And don't get me wrong; if you are totally okay with going to the mall on your wedding day to get your makeup done, there is nothing wrong with that!  But my thought was for the girl who didn't want to be there and wanted to have one-on-one star treatment on her big day.

I was new to Savannah, and I was starting to book a couple of brides here and there.  So I decided to try to create an experience for my upcoming brides.  I'm proud to say that April 2012 marked our 4th bridal season, and we continue to strive for creating a fantastic and customized experience to set the best tone on the wedding day.  We create a fun, relaxed environment for our dolls while we pamper the entire party.  And don't forget that when you hop down from our fancy director's chair, you are a vision.  On your special day, I believe you should look and feel the best you possibly can.  That way the rest of your day feels like the icing on... your wedding cake!

Here are a few photos from our doll Erin's wedding.  She is absolutely breathtaking and came from great genes since her entire family is filled with beauties!  You can see the fun we had and the memories that were made.  I hope to see you in my chair so we can give you the attention you deserve as a bride!

Love, Jules
